If you've visited Kripske's Pumpkin Patch of Fogbottom's Bog, then you've seen the humble scarecrow in the center of the Patch, Kripske. He appears lifeless on all days of the year except... Halloween, when Inkblurgs bring life back to him. In his job, you are to go on a mission collecting these magical little creatures, and distribute them among the Locals of Fogbottom's Bog. Are you interested in learning a little more about the mysteriousness of the Bog? Then visit Kripske at Kripske's Pumpkin Patch and attempt his special Job!

Indeed! The disappearance of the Inkblurgs is what's draining the magic. Those little inky Petpetpets are, in a way, the "essence" of the bog. They've lived here for so long that they've become part of the bog, part of its magic. They're magical little critters themselves, you know. When they started disappearing, the bog magic disappeared with them.

What caused their disappearance?

I'm sure you've heard of Kremelda and Orzok's fight by now. After the big magical explosion, many bog residents moved away in fear. Now, Inkblurgs are very social creatures; they love to swarm near Petpets. When the population dwindled all at once, the Petpetpets retreated into the murky depths of the swamp.

Does that mean they're all gone?

Oh, they're still around. They're just hiding. You can see them sometimes. There's just a little flash of black at the corner of your eye, but when you turn to look, there's nothing there...

Mysterious. So they can still be found?

Very clever! You're onto something there. It will take a lot of time and dedication, but yes, the bog can be revived. How many residents are currently in the bog?

Six, eh? It's a start, I suppose. Hmm...about thirty-five Inkblurgs should be enough to bring back some life into this old place. Search the bog and capture the Petpetpets in this lantern. Then release five around each bog resident, so the Inkblurgs are more inclined to stay above-ground.

But that would only take thirty Inkblurgs.

Now you need to travel around Kripske's Pumpkin Patch, Bogbottom and Founder's Cemetery with your Inkblurg Lantern (given to you by Kripske, to hold all of the Inkblurgs) in search of the 7 Inkblurg locations. This will give you a total of 35 Inkblurgs to then pass around to each of the 6 Locals who reside in Fogbottom's Bog, as well as keep 5 Inkblurgs for yourself. Each of these Inkblurgs will be hiding in patches of grass. Move your mouse over the grass patch to discover the Inkblurgs. Beware though, there are also four patches of grass that aren't what they appear! Below are each of the 7 Inkblurgs.

Now that you have collected the 35 Inkblurgs, distribute them to the 6 Locals of Fogbottom's Bog. These Locals are: Grimelda (Bogbottom), Mumbell (Bogbottom), Jesper (Founder's Cemetery), Banks (Founder's Cemetery) Old Fogbottom (The Mausoleum), and Kripske (Kripske's Pumpkin Patch). The 5 extra Inkblurgs that you will have left are for you to keep, and will appear in your inventory.
