According to Old Fogbottom, if someone can help us discover what is happening with the bog, that is Kripske the scarecrow. The only problem is that he is asleep, and the only petpet that could wake him up is Grimelda, the cranky witch. In order to start this job, you need first to complete The Fogbottom Family Tree job, and then head to the Bogbottom area and talk to Grimelda.

Normally, a Revivifying Potion might work, but waking Kripske will require stronger magic than that. He's been around since the ancient days, so only ancient magic can wake him.
