Some strange things have been happening at the Bog lately. Apparently it's all due to something that took place a long time ago, and according to a couple of Ghosts, Jesper of Founder's Cemetery has a few answers. Are you up to helping him with a couple of tasks, in order to find out the big mystery and why all these weird things are happening? Then head on over to Founder's Cemetery to complete his Job!

The bog's troubles? Hmm...I have noticed a change in the bog...the trees remain motionless, and mushrooms grow dimmer by the day. I myself do not feel like walking around much anymore. This place certainly isn't what it used to be.

My spirit is bound to the bog and unable to leave. It gets a little boring sometimes. Since a real adventure's not likely to come to me, I would enjoy an adventure book or two. I hear there's an admiral in Petpet Park now...perhaps he has seafaring books! Ask him first. Then, if you know anyone with access to a lot of books, you can ask them for a good adventuring book too.

Important Note: In order to make everything go smoothly, visit Admiral Gully in Tugg Harbour first. If you visit Professor Wallington at the Wallington Courtyard first and then go to the Admiral, you might not get the job dialogue from him and you will not be able to get his book. To fix this, go back to Jesper and talk to him. He will get impatient and tell you about the Professor. After you've finished the conversation, go back to the Admiral and you will get the correct dialogue.

It was very nice of you to get these for me. So, what were we discussing before I asked you to run this little errand?

Oh yes! We were neighbours with the witch, you know. Kremelda, her name was. She and the sorcerer, Orzok, were fierce rivals and often engaged in furious magical battles.

Yeah. Mumbell mentioned that.

One night, they had a particularly intense fight. I don't know what caused it exactly - perhaps a bit of magic went wrong, or two of their spells collided - but there was a huge explosion. When the smoke and magical dust cleared, there was nothing left of their two houses.

Wow. And, uh, Mumbell didn't notice this?

She was occupied. I believe a long-awaited dress had come out in stores that day. Anyhow, the town was never quite the same after that last great battle.

But wasn't this fight a long time ago?

Yes, it happened many long years ago. I believe old Fogbottom, the founder of the town, was still alive at the time.

So why would that affect the bog now?

When the explosion happened, potions and enchanted artifacts were scattered all across the bog. I'm not sure how, but I believe that leftover magic is now finally affecting the bog.

I see. Whatever happened to Kremelda and Orzok?

No one knows. For a few days after the explosion, residents caught glimpses of them, but eventually, the two of them vanished entirely, and their houses' remains sank into the bog.

Oooh, how mysterious.

Indeed. I wish I could tell you more, but that's all I know. Perhaps the old bog witch Grimelda would know more. Do keep me posted if you hear anything further about the bog's state, as I'm rather curious myself. I thank you for your help.
