The Fogbottom's Bog area was founded by Old Fogbottom, many years ago. Now, his ghost needs your help to get his Family Tree Engraved. To start this job, make sure you've completed Jesper and Mumbell's jobs and head over to the Mausoleum at Founder's Cemetery.

"Dying" is perhaps not the most accurate word. But yes, I have noticed the unique magical life in this bog is slowly fading away.
The trees no longer follow me with their eyes, and the mushrooms look so dull. I don't really know what could be causing it.

Jesper thinks it's leftover magic from a fight.

Are you referring to Kremelda and Orzok's fight? It's true that their magical belonging sank into the bog after their last great battle, but I don't believe that would've affected the bog negatively.
The bog was already a magical place, and the scattered potions and artifacts would've only added to that magic.
No, no... something is DRAINING the magic away from the bog.

Do you have any suspicions as to what?

I haven't the foggiest idea.

You haven't noticed anything weird?

No. Well, I did noticed one little thing.
It seems so trivial, but... I've been noticing fewer and fewer Inkblurgs in the bog.
They started disappearing after the great fight, but that's hardly surprising. Many frightened bog residents moved away after the fight.

Can't blame them. What're Inkblurgs?

Inkblurgs are little inky Petpetpets that used to live all over the bog.
They were lively little critters, always hopping about. But I don't know if their absence would affect the bog

Hmm...interesting.

If only Kripske, the scarecrow in the Pumpkin Patch, were awake. He would know what was wrong.

Er...the scarecrow talks?

Oh yes! Quite a charming chap too. He's the oldest resident of this bog; in fact, he owes his very existence to ancient bog magic.
He's usually awake by this time of year, but I haven't seen him move at all lately. I have a feeling it's related to the bog's loss of magic.

Is there any way to wake him up?

I'm not sure. Grimelda is a powerful witch... perhaps she can help you.

Haha! I like your spirit. Here, take this ring to her. The Founder's ring was made by Orzok and enchanted by Kremelda. It contains the ancient, powerful magic that could only be found in the bog's early days.
Perhaps she will find it useful.
