Arf's Buried Treasure

Welcome aboard the Pernicious Pinchit... scourge of the high seas. What might ye be wanting of old Cap'n Arf?

I was wondering if you needed any new crew members.

Aaarr! Splendid! I could tell just by the look of ye that you'd make a fine pirate. And as ye might know, a good pirate has a nose for treasure. Do ye think ye have such a nose?

Of course I do. I love treasure!
I'm not sure. How can you tell?

Well, there's no substitute for doing I always say! It so happens that I have a small treasure buried here abouts, and could use a clever soul such as yerself to fetch it for me. I've hidden a clue in the shade of a tree and near three stones ten paces west of center in Pirate Alley. Start there if ye be hearty enough for the task.

I will take up the challenge cap'n!
On second thought... nah. But thanks anyway.

I knew I could count on ye. I'll reward ye handsomely for your troubles. Come back when ye've found me treasure. Aaaar!

Woot! Treasure... here I come!

Now head to Pirate Alley. Below the game Dead Pin Bowling you will see a palm tree with three rocks next to it. Below and next to that, you will see a large sand mound. Keep clicking around the mound until the dialogue box pops up.

You locate a peculiar looking mound of sand at the base of a palm tree near three identical stones.

Dig through the sand.

You uncover what looks like an old glass bottle with a rolled up parchment inside.

Open the bottle and remove the parchment.
Ewww... Pinchits!! Run away before you get pinched!

You unroll the parchment and it reads...

"Your journey starts in this shadowy place where you'll meet a ghostly spirit face to face."

Oh... I know where that is.
Huh? What kind of clue is that?

Next, talk to Opal in Shadow Grove.

Hi! I'm really glad you stopped by. I don't get a lot of visitors you know... being a ghost and all. There are a lot of bad rumours floating around about us ghosts. I assure you most of them are totally unjustified. You're not scared are you?

Er...not too scared. Can you help me?
Truthfully... you sort of give me the creeps.

This clue says I should come see you!

Oh yes! Arf's treasure. I can help you with that. The Cap'n left something with me in case it was ever needed.

Where is it? I have no idea... I'm just a ghost after all. I don't get around much.

But I know who can probably help. Go see Shangles. I'm sure Cap'n Arf made him bury the treasure to begin with. Poor guy has to do all the dirty work on that ship.

I've been swabbing these decks for a long time now and my mop is all worn out. Now it takes forever to clean the deck, and it gets me in all sorts of trouble with Olaf and the Cap'n.
Maybe you could go see my old pal Spivey and see if he will give you one of his mops for me? We used to be such pals, but since this feud started between Cap'n Arf and Admiral Gully, we never get to see each other anymore.

Man... that's pretty sad. I'll go get it for you.

Sure. Sure. Here you go. And tell my old pal I said 'ahoy' and I'm working on a plan to put an end to this feud once and for all.

Now hold on. Let me think for a minute. Where did I bury that? I remember going to bury the chest for the Cap'n. And I bumped into an old friend... Scurvy Bill. Do you know him? Well anyway... we chatted for a while... and before I new it the day had flown by. So I walked across a little bridge and buried the chest real quick. Oh! And I put a rock on top of it and marked it with an X.

Anything else?

Nope. That's all I can remember. Oh... and here's my old shovel. If you find the treasure you'll need this.

Now head over to Park Station and walk back to the little bridge behind the Post Office. You will see a small rock with a large red X on it. Click the rock.

You locate a single stone in a field. The stone has an X marked on it.

Start digging with Shangle's shovel.

You uncover a wooden chest covered in dirt.

Open the chest with Skeleton Key.

You open the chest to find... a doll?

One Petpet's trash is another Petpet's treasure I guess. Off to see Cap'n Arf and collect my reward.
