Logging In

In order to play in the Park, the first thing you will need to do is Log In. To do this, click on the orange "Play Now" button up at the top of the page.

You will then be transfered to the Log In page, where you can either log in with an existing Neopets account, or you can create an account specifically to use at the Petpet Park. If you already have a Neopets account that you would like to use, then just simply log in. If you do not have a Neopets account, then you will need to create an account to use at the Park. Do this by clicking on the "Start Here" button under New Players. Choose the username and password that you would like and continue filling out the rest of the needed information.

Selecting a Server

Once you have logged in, you will need to choose a server to play on. The park is the same on every server, so it really does not matter which one you choose. So then why have so many? This is to help prevent lags, or slow playing time. As you can see to the right of the server name, it shows you how many people are playing on it. The more lit up petpets, the more people are playing on that particular server. My recommendation would be to choose a server with as less of those petpets as possible; to prevent a slow playing speed or lag.

Adopting a Pet

Now it is time to adopt your very first Petpet! This is the Petpet that you will use to explore and wander about the Park! Keep in mind that you can always change your pet's species and colour later on in the game if you decide you want something different. The first step in choosing is deciding which Species you would like to adopt. You will see the six different types of species to choose from under "Species". Click on each species to read their Likes and information about them in order to decide which one you like best. When you have decided, Click on the "Next" button at the bottom.

Now it is time to move onto determining the Colour and Gender of your petpet! First, select a colour. You have red, yellow, blue and green to choose from. Next, decide if your petpet will be a Girl or a Boy. Once you have chosen, click on the "Next" button at the bottom of the page.

Once that is done, we move onto the fun part of naming your beloved petpet! Enter in a name that you like to check its availability. Keep in mind that the name you choose must be 6 to 20 characters long and can only use letters, numbers, or underscores. It is also recommended that you not use your real name or any other personal information for your Petpet name.

After you enter in a name, click on the "Check Availability" button to see if the name is available to use. The "green check" means that the name is not taken, and that you may use it; but a "red x" means that someone has already taken that name, and you may not use it. Once you have decided on a name that works, click on the "Next" button at the bottom of the page.

Now it is time to choose a theme for your Petpet. You can choose from the following: Adventure, Arts, Citizen, Nature, Magic, and Gadgetry. Click on each of these to view what items will be inside your New Member Pack. Keep in mind that this theme only affects what items you receive in your new member pack; nothing else will be affected. Once you have chosen, click on the "Next" button at the bottom of the page.

Note: The Citizen, Nature and Gadgetry Gifts were formerly called Charm, Farming and Tinkering respectively. The Charm Gift used to give out a Petpet Park Key instead of the Winsela Figurine.
