Potion Panic 

Introduction
Potion Panic is a game featured by Grimelda, and is found in the Bogbottom Area. The gameplay is somewhat similar to Mystery Maze, but you play with your mouse. Your goal is to cast spells by gathering different items (herbs) and throwing them into a cauldron.
There are twelve levels with different difficulties from easy to hard, and once you have unlocked them you can play them as many times as you want!
How to Play
You play as Grimelda, the Bogbottom witch. You control her by simply clicking with your mouse on the tile where you want her to go.
To advance through the different levels and gain points, you need to pick up herbs and put them in the cauldron in a certain order, which is displayed at the beginning of each level and at the top of the game screen. Keep in mind that Grimelda can only carry one item at a time.
When leading Grimelda to a any tile, just remember to give her some time to reach her destination, because if you click elsewhere she will go to the last tile you clicked. Keep this in mind when collecting the herbs, wait until she picks them up before telling her where to go next!
If you ever pick up the wrong herb, click on the same tile Grimelda is standing on to make her put it down.Also, if you click on a tile where there is an herb while you are already carrying one, you will leave the herb there and pick up the new one.
In each level you will find different obstacles and enemies that you need to avoid. You can find a list of them with their pictures in the next section. You should also try to finish each level with the best possible time to get more points!
Herbs, Squares, Enemies and items
Herbs
Herbs are the items that need to be collected to complete the level. Each one starts in the same tile for a certain level, and they need to be picked up and taken to the cauldron one by one in the given order to get points and advance in the game.
Click on an herb to collect it, Grimelda will walk to the herb's tile and pick it up. Wait until she picks up the herb before telling her where to go next, if you click elsewhere she will go to the last tile you clicked. Click on the Cauldron when holding an herb to put it in, and when Grimelda is standing still on one tile, click on her to put the herb back down!
Remember that you can only carry one herb at a time, so if while holding one herb you click click on a tile where's another herb, you will pick up the new herb and leave the other one in that tile.
Herbs

Pick these up as fast as you can and take them to the cauldron in the right order before the skeletons reach it. If you put an herb into the cauldron in the wrong order, it will be destroyed and a new herb will regrow, but you will lose the time you wasted on getting the herb :(. |
Squares
The different squares you can step on have different characteristics, see below:

![]() | Water Tiles are deep water tiles, neither you nor the skeletons can walk on them. |
![]() | Submerged Tiles are shallow water tiles, you cannot walk on them, but you can however create platforms you can walk on by sinking boulders into these tiles! |
![]() | Trapdoor tiles are linked together by magic portals. Use them to reach swamp areas that are surrounded by water or inaccessible by foot. When placing your mouse on a trapdoor the destination tile will light up. An important note about portals is that, if you take portal A and come out of portal B, taking portal B won't always make you come out of portal A. Keep this in mind because using portals can become quite confusing when there's more than three of them in the same level. |

![]() | Waterlilly tiles will sink into the swamp after you have walked on them, so be sure to walk on them only when necessary. Sometimes going through them is the only way to reach some of the herbs, and if you have already walked on them you will have to restart the level :(. |

Items and Enemies
Besides herbs and tiles, there are other things that take part in the gameplay:
Items

![]() | Boulders can block you and the skeletons. You however, can push boulders around. To push a boulder, you must be stood next to it, and the square you are about to push the boulder into must be empty. You can push boulders into Submerged Tiles to form a platform that you and skeletons can walk on (but you cannot push blocks into deep water). If you can push a boulder, it will light up. |
![]() | Skeletons will try to stop you from casting your spell. You have to pick up all the herbs before they reach the cauldron or it will be game over :(. You can push skeletons out of your way just like how you move boulders: stand next to it and click on it. Don't worry, skeletons can't hurt you, so feel free to push him as much as you want :). |
![]() | Ghost Dog Spells will cast a ghost dog that will haunt the skeletons back to their starting spot. To activate it, just click on it or press the space bar, but make sure you are close to the skeletons, otherwise it won't affect them. You get 10 points at the end of each level for every unused spell, so use them only when necessary! |
Walkthrough
In this section of the guide we present to you a walkthrough of all the levels of the game. Please keep in mind that there's more than one way to finish each level, so play around and see if you can find a way to finish the levels quicker than the ways described here!
Level One
This is the simplest level, all you have to do is pick up the first herb (the yellow one) and take it to the cauldron. After that, go pick up the second item (the purple herb) and take it to the cauldron too. Try to finish the level quickly to gain more points.
Level Two
This level is a little trickier than the first one because now we will need to do some boulder moving to finish the level. To move a boulder, simply stand next to it and then click it; the boulder will move to the opposite direction of the one it's being pushed from.
The first thing you need to do is move the boulder indicated by an "A" in the image below (boulder A) to the tile indicated by the arrow. This will prevent the skeleton from getting to the cauldron, and you can only focus on getting the items. Next, you need to move boulders B and C to the tiles indicated by their respective arrows. After that, just collect the items in the right order: purple, blue and yellow, and take them to the cauldron as fast as you can.
Level Three
This is quite an easy level. Just enter portal A, pick up the yellow herb, go back using the portal, put the herb in the cauldron, and do the same with portals B, C and D, in that order. If the skeletons get too close to the cauldron, just hit the space bar on your keyboard to cast a ghost dog spell and send them back to their starting tile.
Level Four
This is a long level with a lot of boulder-moving. First, move boulder A to the tile indicated by the arrow; this will stop the skeleton on the lower part of the screen from reaching the cauldron. Next, move boulder B to the shallow water tile indicated by its respective arrow; it will sink and create a platform where you can walk on. Stand next to boulder C and move it to the platform you built with boulder B. Push it again in the same direction so it will sink into the shallow water tile, building a bridge to that little island where the orange and yellow herbs are located; take them to the cauldron in that order.
Use boulder D to create a bridge to the left island (the one where the second skeleton is) by sinking it into the shallow water tile. To get the skeleton out of your way, press the spacebar to cast a Ghost Dog Spell or just click on the skeleton to push him back. Take boulder E outside of the island to start creating a bridge to the last island (the one where the purple and green herbs are located), and complete the bridge with boulder F. Take those last herbs to the cauldron in the right order and you are done with this level.
Level Five
This level has a long explanation but is easy :). Start by picking up the purple herb indicated by number 1 in the image below; after that, push the lowest boulder as indicated; this way one of the skeletons will be trapped and unable to reach the cauldron (just like you did in level 4!). Drop the herb on any empty tile by standing still in any tile and clicking on Grimelda (for example, the tile indicated by the asterisk, *), you don't need this herb for now. Pick up the yellow herb (number 2) and drop it into the cauldron. Pick up the other yellow herb (number 3), cast a spell so the skeleton moves out of the way and goes back to its starting spot, and take the herb to the cauldron.
At this point, the other skeleton is probably quite close to the cauldron, just stand near him and cast another spell. Now, pick up the purple herb (number 4) and drop it near the cauldron (for example, on the tile indicated by the plus sign, +). The reason for this step is that while you get the other yellow herb, the skeleton walks towards the cauldron, and by the time you should be picking up herb 4 it is usually blocking your way and you lose precious time waiting for the skeleton to go back until you can finally reach the herb, and if you are aiming for a golden medal and good score, saving time is crucial!
Last, all you need to do is take the other yellow herb and then the purple ones to the cauldron, if the skeletons get too close to the cauldrons just use another spell, and you should have finished the level with a gold medal ;).
Level Six
This is a quite easy level, the only trick is setting some things at first so then it is just picking up the herbs. The first thing we are going to do is move the boulder to the tile indicated by the arrow; this way we are blocking one of the skeletons' way to the cauldron. Pick up the red herb, but while doing so be sure to step on the two lily pad tiles indicated with dashes (-) so they will fade after you cross, then take the herb to the cauldron using the lily pads marked with asterisks (*). By doing this you are blocking other of the ways to the cauldron, and the two skeletons that start at the left of the screen will now be isolated and unable to reach it!
The rest is a piece of cake, just pick the herbs in the right order, and if the third skeleton gets too close to the cauldron just hit the spacebar on you keyboard or click on a ghost dog spell spell to activate it. Just one note: if while picking up the blue herb the skeleton blocks your way, instead of just waiting you can push him and finish the level sooner (remember that to push a skeleton you have to stand next to it and click, just like a boulder! Don't worry, they won't hurt you ;) ).
Level Seven
Just like the previous level, the first thing you should do here is set the game items so that it gets difficult for the skeletons to reach the cauldron. Start by moving all the boulders, except the one marked with an '*', one tile to the north-east (see image below). Now, move the '*' boulder to the spot indicated by the '*'. This way, there will be only one path leading to the cauldron, and the other ways will be blocked ;).
Now, just focus on getting the herbs in the right order, you should first take the orange herb (number 1), and use trapdoor A to go back (you should come out of trapdoor B). To get the green herb (number 2) use trapdoor B, pick up the herb, and go back using trapdoor C (you should do the same when getting herb 4). Just continue picking herbs until they are all in the cauldron, if at any point you feel the skeletons are getting too close of the path to the cauldron, use a magic spell so they don't block your way. You should have now earned another gold medal :).
Level Eight
First, grab herb one. If you can, try to isolate the skeleton at the left of the herb in the platform it starts the level on by pushing him back if necessary.Push boulder A as shown to create a platform, and then take the portal. You should come out of one of the portals on the top of the screen. Push boulder B to create another platform and put the herb on the cauldron. Then, go grab herb two, but make sure to step on the Lily pad tile marked with an - in the image below, and to go back to the cauldron crossing through the bridge made with the Lily pad tiles marked with * (this way you make it more difficult for the skeleton on the top of the screen to reach the cauldron). If the skeletons get too close to the cauldron just activate a spell.
Move boulder B to the shallow water tile so you can reach the yellow herb (number 3) and take it to the cauldron. Get the red herb (number 4) using the last lily pad tiles as bridges and use the portal, you should come out of the trapdoor at the center-top of the screen, click on the cauldron to put the herb in.
Now, just pick up the orange herb (number 5), take the portal near it and put the herb into the cauldron. You are done with this level :).
Level Nine
A lot of boulders in this level! First, move boulders A, B, C and D to the tiles indicated by their respective arrows. Pick up the purple herb (number 1) and take it to the cauldron. Move boulders E and F as indicated by the arrows and pick up the orange herb (number two), take it to the cauldron. Try to step on the speed up tiles whenever you can so Grimelda will move faster. Move boulders G, H and I to get the blue herb (number 3). Get the red herb (number 4); a quick way to reach it is using the portal near the cauldron.
Only one herb to finish the level! Just pick up the yellow herb (number 5) and put it inside the cauldron and you are done :). Remember, if the skeletons get too close to the cauldron at any point, just cast a spell.
Level Ten
Click on the purple herb (number 1) to pick it up, and use the portal at the left of it to get to the cauldron. Take the portal located to the right of the cauldron, get the red herb (number 2) and take it back to the cauldron using the portal. Take the portal at the left of the cauldron and pick up the yellow herb (number 3), and go back using the portal you just came out of. At this point one of the skeletons should be close to the cauldron so cast a spell when you get close to it. Move boulders A and B, and click on the blue herb (number 4), take the herb to the cauldron and grab the orange herb (number 5). At this point another skeleton will be probably about to reach the cauldron, so just cast another spell to scare him away. Move boulders C and D as indicated, grab the last purple herb (number 6) and you should be done with this level :).
Level Eleven
First, get the purple herb (number 1), make sure to step on the waterlilly tiles indicated with "*", and while going back to the cauldron step on the waterlilly tile marked with a -. Move the boulder to the tile indicated by the arrow, grab the orange herb (number 2), step on the the waterlilly tile marked with the exclamation sign (!) and push the boulder, you will be steping on trapdoor tile A, which will activate the portal and you will appear out of trapdoor tile B, just click on Grimelda and you will be back near the cauldron, put the herb inside it. Step on trapdoor A, you will come out of trapdoor B, pick up the yellow herb (number 3) and go back to the cauldron using trapdoor B.
Now, let's do an arrangement so it will be imposible for the skeletons to reach the cauldron: simply step on the waterlilly tile marked with a ")" and go back, this will separate the platform where the cauldron is from the rest of the swamp tiles.
Now, getting the rest of the herbs is a piece of cake. Just take trapdoor A and grab the herbs one by one.
Level Twelve
Even tough this is the last level, and the difficulty of the game had been increasing as the game progressed, this is quite an easy level, very enjoyable actually :).
Start by getting the first purple herb, use the path marked with asterisks (*) to reach it, then push the skeleton back by clicking on it to get him out of your way. Once you have put the herb inside the cauldron, move boulder A as indicated, grab the blue herb (number 2) and take it to the cauldron. Pick up the orange herb (number 3) and take it to the culdron, if the skeleton that at the start of the level is next to purple herb number 4 is in your way, just cast a spell. Get the purple herb (number 4) inside the cauldron and then pick up the last herb of the game (the red one, number 5) and put it inside the cauldron.
Congratulations, you finished the game :D! Make sure to replay the levels to improve your time.
Tips and Tricks
A good way to finish the levels quickly is looking for a way to 'trap' the skeletons, so you don't have to go back and activate spells to stop them from reaching the cauldron. That way you can just focus on picking up the herbs and get more points for not using the spells.
Sometimes the game can get very laggy, just try closing any programs you don't need while you are playing.
Remember to give Grimelda enough time to reach her destination before clicking on the next tile; she will go to the last tile you clicked. Keep this in mind when collecting the herbs.
