Fun at the Park
Summer at the Park 2010
Summer activities started with the release of two new areas at the Park: Pukapooka Beach and Mt. Puka. The first special access zone was also released during this time: the Puka Beach Club. A new mini-area, the Volcano was also released.
Pukapooka Beach
|
Located Northwest of Knight's Keep, this paradisiac island has all that is needed for a fun day at the beach: gold sands, bright green palm trees, an open bar with delightful drinks and even a quiet pier where you can relax and look at the warm sea, which is full of fish, coral, and... driftwood pieces. From the beach's vast fishing spots, you can catch a new species of fish: the Pukapooka Tree Fish. A new activity was released with this event as well: the collecting of salvage and junk items. Items for this are collected along the sea shore. See our Activities Page to learn more about the new activities! |
In this beautiful area we also met some new locals. Below is brief a description of each one. Be sure to click on their names to learn more!
Cory: He is a tourist that one day visited the island and liked it so much that he decided to stay there. He really loves collecting souvenirs and he is an avid photographer. Below you can see some of his work:
Enko: He is a playful Petpet who likes to play jokes on other Petpets. He cooks a mean Island Rice Specialty, one of the main dishes at the Grand Feast. He also prepares great smoothies:
Kumba: He is the Luau Master. He enjoys the quiet and tranquility of the island, so doesn't like tourists who run around the island loudly. He also loves Jack-O-Lantern Lollipops. He, too, enjoys preparing smoothies, and is the host of the new game Puka Time Smoothie.
Mt. Puka
Located Northeast of the Pukapooka Beach, Mt. Puka is a great place for tourists. It contains the Tiki Knick-Knacks shop, which is stocked up with island stuff and a is great place to buy your souvenirs! The Volcano, a new mini area that was first opened to the public on July 1st, 2010, is also located here.
New Locals
- Aku: She is the guardian of Pukapooka Island. She is also in charge of the Annual Grand Feast.
- Ekewaka: He is the owner of the Tiki Knick-Knacks shop on Pukapooka Island.

- Kahuna: He is the guardian of the entrance to the Puka Beach Club and he loves decorating the entrance with Rubies.
- Hikili: He is the guardian of the island. He is annoyed by all the tourists that the island attracts during the Annual Grand Feast so he stole the Sacred Fire Stone and hid it inside the water fountain at Pukapooka Beach. His hut contains the morphing platforms used to change your Petpet's species.

Island Mystery Questline
While finishing the arrangements for the Annual Feast, Aku discovered that there was something wrong with the preparations: every year, she chooses a fire stone from the Volcano and casts a sea wave spell on it. The combination of the stone's natural fire magic and Aku's water magic makes it glow with an inner fire, yet remain cool to the touch. This magical stone is then declared the Sacred Fire Stone, and it is traditionally dropped into the Volcano at the Annual Grand Feast, since legend says that the magic of the Fire Stone appeases the Volcano's anger, thus keeping the island safe from eruption. However, this year's Fire Stone has gone missing! Aku needs your help to find it in time for the feast and save the island.
There were also other island jobs available, some of them requiring Nickcash:
Morphing
With the opening of Hikili's Hut and the release of Morphing Potions at the Park Mall on July 15th, 2010, players can now change their Petpet's species. To change your the species of your Petpet, you need to first buy a Morphing Potion from the NC Mall. Then, take your Petpet to Hikili's Hut and morph away!
The release of these special items also brought a surprise: two new Petpet species that are Morphing Potion exclusive! These new species are the Bandalu and the Puxa.
Puka Beach Club

The Puka Beach Club is a very exclusive area of Petpet Park. In order to access it, users had to purchase special access keys from the Mall. Depending on the access key they bought, they would be able to enter the Beach Club during a certain period of time. Besides enjoying the beautiful beach club scenario, this place also offered a new island shop known as Island Treasures, a once-a-day harvestable treasure chest, Bonfire parties (hosted Fridays and Saturdays, 3-9 pm NST), exclusive jobs, new exclusive crafting activities with the introduction of the Lava Crafter, and collection items.
Here is a list of the items that gave users access to the club:
As of December 16, 2010, you can now gain permanent access to the Puka Beach Club by purchasing the Puka Beach Club Access Key from the NC Mall.
New Locals in this area:
- Koki: He is a a magical talking rock that lives in the Puka Beach Club. He knows many recipes for creating items with the help of the Lava Crafter.
- Lani: She is the head of the Puka Beach Club. She would give free gifts to players who visited the club during the Bonfire Parties.
- Lava Crafter: Just like the Crafting Tree, this special local would help players create exclusive items by combining them with the help of magic. You can find a list of his recipes here.
- Melika: She is the shopkeeper at the Island Treasures shop.

Weekly Bonfire Giveaway Gifts
As a treat for premium users with access to the Puka Beach Club, a special item was given out weekly.
The Volcano
![]() | The Volcano, home of Noodoko, opened on July 1st, 2010. Every day Noodoko gathers up the noodles that are naturally cooked in the fires of Mt. Puka, and puts them into the giant bowl of noodles located inside the Volcano. He is sad that not many Park residents know of these noodles, and since he thinks everyone should enjoy them, he is going to need your help to promote them around the Park. This new mini area also came with a new activity: Noodle Harvesting. You can collect different types of noodles by clicking on the Giant Noodle Bowl inside the Volcano. Noodles can be eaten, collected and even used in jobs! |
Ten types of Noodles were introduced with the release of the Giant Noodle Bowl. Click on the images below to see their descriptions:

Lava Crafter
Crafting is an interesting activity that allows you to combine normal park items like fish and rubies into something new. Joining the Crafting Tree in the noble art of crafting is the Lava Crafter in the special access zone known as the Puka Beach Club. Visit the Master of the Lava Pool with the right items stored in your backpack, and he will create a new item out of them!
A good way to get new recipes (list of the items needed to craft a new item) is talking to Koki, the talking lava rock that stands to the left of the Lava Crafter and its lava pool. You can also check out our Lava Crafter page for a full list of items and recipes!
